A pinch of salt...

So a couple of days after New Years Eve we set off from Tupiza with sore heads and high on immodium (it was coming out of us like lava) on the South West Circuit of Bolivia, including the infamous Salt Flats, Salares de Uyuni (12,100 sqkm). We were all really hyped for the trip, even our runny bums couldn't dampen our spirits...hope you like the pics guys!! Some of the pics (especially the good ones) are courtesy of Kathleen.

The lovely Charlie wearing a big smile for the start of the tour...

Lads didn't look quite as charming...

Is that a pair of binoculars in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?

Chinchilla!

Ian struggling at 4,855 metres...

This little fella kept us mesmerised for ages popping in and out of his various holes...

Geysers!

Bubbling, hot water!!

Stinky sulphur made it smell like eggy poop...

Laguna Guinda

The red lagoon...

We're all so pretty...

That had to be an early night as Raul, our tour guide, told us it was a 4.30am start to catch the sunrise on the flats...not impressed lol

Forgot all about the early wake up call once we were out there...was pretty amazing!

Can't even remember why we did this pose to be honest...someones stupid idea...Ian?

Was bloody freezing though...ar lad keeping me warm...

Ian doing a jig for us all...

Ian trying to be masculine...owning the mountain

Breakfast!

Deysei, Raul and a random Bolivian guide...just chilling

Easy rider here rocked up solo during breakfast, like some kind of sexy salty God. The fact that he has been lost on the salt flats for three days with only a litre of water made us pale motorbikeless males feel better.

Trying to be as cool as easy rider

Couldn't get shut of him...

Not a great idea with that hairline...

And so here comes the 'crazy' photos, as every tour guide insisted on calling them

Team brent... Best idea ever

Not quite there, Ems jump is not so good with big walking boots on...

Nailed it...

Out of the frying pan...

Getting a bit too giddy...

Ben can´t read...

The markets at the end of the trip...

Last supper...

How much for a wee!!! Cheeky mite...

Ending on a cheeky grin...little cutey...

So here we end the Salt Flat pics, was an absoloutely amazing trip and thanks again to Raul and Deysei for making it what it was (La Torre Tours)...we´re currently in Sucre trying to find an apartment to rent so we can study more Spanish (we need it a lot more now we´re in Bolivia), we´ll try and do the posts more frequently now as the last two have more or less killed us with so many pics....Hasta luego!
